How do you get young people to respond to drink driving and road safety messages while theyโre in party mode? You ditch the authority figures and join the party to create peer-to-peer connections.
Developed 13 years ago and managed by Graffiti, the Vanessa peer-to-peer program has a fleet of vehicles that tour more than 60 festivals and events in Victoria each year. Just like a best friend, Vanessa wants people to party and have fun, but she offers practical road safety tips and general good vibes. Every year, the Vanessa team offers more than 26,000 breath tests and engages 30,000 young people, helping them make safe and informed decisions at events.
We partnered with up-and-coming artist Cassie Stevens to create a new look for the Vanessa fleet in time for the 2019/20 summer season. Cassie's design brings to life the quintessential Aussie festival experience, portaloos and all, and forms a colourful, lively backdrop to the Vanessa activation.
