Pause Stops by TAC are drive-in rest stops, designed to encourage drivers to recharge on long drives. They were created to help reduce the road toll in Victoria during periods of heavy rural travel, when a 15-minute break could save lives. Local community market stall vendors were encouraged to be part of the activation, giving drivers plenty of reasons to take a break in the travels. And we even changed the name to ‘Paws Stops’ to accommodate our 4-legged friends, who were travelling with their families.

From Boxing Day 2020 – Easter 2021, we activated 27 event days across regional Victoria, welcoming 20400+ weary travellers. TAC Pause Stops will continue across 2021 in regional locations on long weekends when there is high volumes of traffic on the roads.

As of 2024 we are again bringing this activation across regional Victoria.
