Pause Stops by TAC are drive-in rest stops, designed to encourage drivers to recharge on long drives. They were created to help reduce the road toll in Victoria during periods of heavy rural travel, when a 15-minute break could save lives. Local community market stall vendors were encouraged to be part of the activation, giving drivers plenty of reasons to take a break in the travels. And we even changed the name to ‘Paws Stops’ to accommodate our 4-legged friends, who were travelling with their families.
From Boxing Day 2020 – Easter 2021, we activated 27 event days across regional Victoria, welcoming 20400+ weary travellers. TAC Pause Stops will continue across 2021 in regional locations on long weekends when there is high volumes of traffic on the roads
